Camp, Take Two

We may have left the Stamford Yacht Club down in Connecticut, but that doesn't mean we're done with summer camps.

With Nanna and Auntie Katie working at Camp Androscoggin, Ace and Estelle have free run of the place (under the guidance of babysitter Kelly) and today was their first full day out there together. Here, they construct playdoh creations to start the day.

It didn't take long in Maine for Ace to fall in with the rough crowd.

The Little Engineer uses The Claw (with sound effects) to pick up apple pieces during our lunch stop at Starbucks as we drove from Connecticut to Maine today.

And so, 41 days after leaving Denver, our cross-country journey is officially over!

Pirate Camp

Ace ended his month at the Stamford Yacht Club Day Camp in grand fashion, showing off his pirate skills (and hook) at the talent show. We are thankful to Erin and Chris, who were his counselors for the last two weeks, as well as his previous leaders Sam, Carter, and Caroline. And, thanks to Grandpa & Grandma for making the whole thing possible!

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

The Critter is very thankful to have the Best Mommy in the World, especially on her birthday. (And not just because of the helium balloon and Carvel ice cream cake!)

Three's Company

Big Cousin said goodbye to Johnny & Sara today, as they headed back home.

The good news is that now that we've relocated back East, it won't be long before we can see them again.

Cousins

Chase has loved spending time with his younger cousins, Sara (getting attention here from the Big Boy Who Knows Everything) and Johnny. Although they are heading up to Massachusetts tomorrow with Auntie Amanda, we are all happy to have had the last week with them!

Book Worm

After his first day back at camp, Ace enjoyed looking at designs for cool treehouses at the library. He assured us he could "read" the directions, and he was ready to begin construction.

Shocking

Electro-Dude found the perfect toy during today's visit to the Stamford library.

Back in Stamford, we enjoyed an afternoon at the beach, and Ace certainly enjoyed this popscicle.

Shoot Around

Our brief stay in Maine ended today as we headed back for one more week in Connecticut - but not before Ace got a practice session of indoor b-ball in with his cousins.

Quick Trip (Around the Lawn)

Job interviews brought Mommy and Daddy up to Maine for a one-night stay, which allowed Ace a brief reunion with his cousins, Estelle and James. Papa quickly enlisted the three of them to help him mow the lawn.

We return to Connecticut tomorrow but will be back for extended cousin time in a week.

Chase had a slow, sleepy dinner after another action-packed day at camp.

Auntie Amanda - who arrived with Chase's two new baby cousins for a visit - invented a balancing game with some new tubby toys. Being a mother of twins, we know Amanda is learning a few things about balancing, herself!

The Little Engineer could think of no better way to celebrate Mom and Dad's 11th Anniversary than setting off his new water rocket.

Happy Independence Day

Grandma and Grandpa left on vacation today, but not before Ace was able to celebrate the 4th with his favorite Brit. Grandpa took us down for a quick inspection of his boat and we displayed Old Glory, with Chase acting as Color Guard.

Sparks

The Little Engineer was very pleased with his first sparkler, and he managed not to set himself or anyone else on fire. All bets are off for tomorrow - who knows how pyrotechnic he may get on the 4th!?!

Ice Cream Social

Grandson and Grandfather enjoy post-swim milkshakes at the Stamford Yacht Club.

Into the Deep

The Kid has clearly turned a corner - or better yet, made a flip turn - with regards to his attitude about swimming. Today all he wanted to do was put his head under, hold his breath, and "swim" without help.

Although he has a ways to go before he can do it on his own, he did manage to wiggle his way several feet under water multiple times and even executed a few underwater somersaults.
