Be Good, Be Strong

Today we wore our "Be Good, Be Strong" shirts in support of Mommy's cousin Jennie, who runs the Boston Marathon every year in memory of her sisters, Molly and Mary, and brother John. Although we can't run along side her, we can send the strength and beauty of the Red Rocks in Roxborough State Park to help her put one foot in front of the other on April 21st.

Social Climber

After a rather brief visit to the science museum, Ace enjoyed climbing a nearby tree.

Faith Healer

Ace uses tape to repair the eye on the Baby Moses he made earlier in the day at Temple Emanuel. He then returned the young prophet to his basket.

We're still unclear if Chase will have the heart to set the little guy adrift on the Nile River.

Brothers

After a day filled with tumbling class and a trip to the park, The Critter took a moment to relax with his oldest sibling.

Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes.

On Monday, the thermometer hit 70° and we played in t-shirts.
On Tuesday, temps dropped to 25° and it snowed.
On Thursday, we were back to 66°.
Friday saw 19° and more snow.
Today, we made it back to 60°, the snow all melted, and we enjoyed a bike ride to the park. We bundled up the Bundle of Joy in his winter jacket, just to be safe.

Now Hear This

We took an unusual afternoon trip to the Children's Museum, but crowds were as bad as always.

We did find a bit of respite in the 4-and-Younger section, where Ace always gets a kick out of listening to the babbling brook sounds that play through these speakers when someone walks over the "bridge."

A Long Way Down

Believe me, that was a big slide. When Chase bounced off he said he wouldn't be going down that again, too scary.

Morning with Papi

Daddy took the morning off to attend Chase's parent teacher conference (fortunately his teachers convinced us that Chase is a normal 4 year old). Afterwards, we had a bit of time before Daddy needed to go to work, so we ventured over to one of Ace's favorite parks and reenacted the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet, except Mommy's Romeos were on the balcony, instead of on the ground.

Balance Beam

After 20 minutes of hemming and hawing about whether or not tumbling class looked fun, Chase finally decided to join in. He had a great time practicing walking on the high beam, the bar, climbing ladders, and doing somersaults. Needless to say he's excited about next week's class.

Sunday School

The highlight of the day was clearly having Ace's friend Erinn over for a pre-St. Patrick's Day dinner.

However, earlier in the day, The Critter accompanied Daddy to SOAR, where we set up a display of the fabulous nonfiction books Daddy's second graders just wrote. Ace was particularly interested in the books about cats (no surprise there!).

Code Violation!

Ace was not in approval of the condition of this flatbed during our evening inspections.

Everyone knows it’s Slinky…

Impressive perseverance and 1950s technology combined to eventually result in the slinky making it all the way down the stairs.

What Goes Up...

Mommy and Ace explored the WOW Children's Museum in beautiful Lafayette, CO today. Our little levitator enjoys a ride on a chair pulley system. Luckily, the ride down was slow and smooth.

Mommy, I need to tell you something...

We're currently at about a 50% success rate of getting Chase to stay in bed after lights out. The rest of the time, the door slowly opens and he announces that there's JUST ONE THING he needs to talk to someone about.

It's never just one thing...

Cold Snap

We went sledding on Saturday morning, played in t-shirts yesterday, and had to cool down with ice cream today. Weather forecast for tomorrow calls for more snow. March in Colorado is interesting!

Frozen with Fear

Chase and Mommy attended a Frozen themed birthday party today. It took a couple attempts to even get this far from the boards at Big Bear Ice Arena. The skating wasn't as big of a hit as was the visit from Elsa the Ice Queen.

Final Hurrah?

With Denver weather the way it is, we can't tell when winter will officially transition into spring. A mini snowstorm last night left us with a few inches of the white stuff, and we took advantage with an hour of great sledding. By late afternoon, the snow was essentially gone, and we were outside playing warm-weather games.

Slice of Life

Ace cuts his Personal Critter Pizza (note: no sauce) into proper triangles.

Boy in the Bubble

No matter what happens during the day, The Critter always gets clean each night.

Track Record

Considering we've been maintaining this blog for over three years, it's amazing pictures like this don't make it onto Chase-a-Day more often.

At the Controls

A trip to the Children's Museum of Denver wouldn't be complete without a fire rescue adventure thrown in.

Librarian

After placing our library books on the conveyor belt, Ace took great pride in "reading" this notice that the (as he calls all employees of any organization) People Who Work Here can't hear us.
