Tiny Town

We discovered yet another Colorado landmark today, the "World Famous Tiny Town & Railroad" in Morrison. As the name suggests, Tiny Town is a huge collection of child-size buildings, some ninety years old, stretched through a forested park in the foothills west of Denver.

Chase enjoyed a few hours imitating King Kong just as much as he enjoyed the mini-steam engine train ride around the park.

Friends in High Places

Ace was instrumental in decorating the Man Cave (a.k.a The Garage) today. Larry didn't do much for him, but Chewie was a hit -- first inducing terror, then intense curiosity.

It doesn't matter how you dress him, he looks good.

Chase plays his new favorite game -- rock the babies until they fall off the ottoman, then laugh hysterically.

Finding himself perilously perched atop a dangerous shopping mall play-structure, Chase signs for "Help."

John Deere

Celebrating the coming football season by wearing Daddy's Patriots hat, Chase checks out his new John Deere lawn mower. While Daddy toils away at our small yard with an old fashioned push reel mower, Chase enjoys the power of his toy by pressing the start button and listening to the engine rev.

D'another Plane!

 

Mommy and Daddy indulged Ace's newfound love of planes by taking a trip to the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum today. He walked beneath fighter jets, bombers, reconnaissance planes and even strolled by a Rebel X-Wing fighter from Star Wars. 

The birds of war were impressive, sure, but most notable was the highly waxed, shiny floor, which completely freaked him out. Guess this boy was meant to be in the skies.

Da Plane, Da Plane

Chase spots an airplane, a new favorite pastime. In addition, he enjoys seeing helicopters, which he lovingly calls "daddycaca". Oh yeah, and he also sported his Red Sox crocs all day.

My cup runneth over

Up, up, and away!

Chase clings to Mommy's back as they ride with Auntie Amanda higher and higher into the mountains at Brekenridge on a super-cool gondola. While not a fan of the long drive, the Critter loved the end destination and will surely be ready for ski season!

Cross that bridge when you come to it

Chase zips around the children's section of the Denver Botanic Garden after taking a refreshing dip in the kid's stream.

Yeah, looks sort of like a sick horse, but trust me: it's a camel.

Ace dropped in on friends of his Great Aunt Joanne in Boulder today and got to try out a new toy. Life in the saddle is great!

Chase has reached the milestone of putting words together. After days of hearing "Daddy's car", Mommy rejoiced at Ace muttering "Mommy's cup" as he played with a Starbucks cup. What are we teaching this kid about consumerism?

Red Balls

Chase has recently started to eat peas, which he enthusiastically labels "Ball!" along with every other spherical object he encounters. Tonight, on our evening stroll to the mailbox, he started yelling "Ball!  Ball!" and pointing to a plant in our front yard. Daddy was momentarily baffled, but it turns out he had spotted the tiny, red berries that were growing in the shrubbery.

Maybe those peas are improving his eyesight.
