Scary Cat is Not a Scaredy Cat

Our very own Scary Cat was very excited for Halloween this year. In fact, he kept his scary mask on for the entirety of Trick or Treating. Once home, he counted his loot -- 16 candies! He ate 3 and then gracefully handed out treats to the rest of the goblins who visited our house. Tomorrow, we head to our dentist to hand over the treats that weren't given out.

World Champs!!!

Ace didn't quite make it to the late innings, but he did a lot of fist pumping and gave plenty of double-claps through seven innings of game 6. He insisted on wearing this Sox shirt to bed and said a quiet "Go, Red Sox," as a Daddy went out to finish coaching the team to the World Series trophy.

Fall Classic

With his BoSox in the process of winning game five of the World Series, Ace picked an appropriate book for his bedtime story. Go Sox!

Community Service

When Colorado was hit by those terrible rains a month ago, one of our our local playgrounds was flooded and subsequently cordoned off with caution tape. The waters have receded and the playground is useable again, but nobody had removed the tape. Enter our Little Community Servant, who took it upon himself to officially reopen the area!

Balloon Artist

We've discovered that Ace isn't so crazy about balloon creations being made for him...but he loves to create his own! At today's local Fun Festival, he requested that the balloon guy just give him a straight balloon. The creature seen here was a Chase original.

Sunflower Farm

Chase holds a brand new kitten at Sunflower Farm in Longmont, CO today. The farm was a children's heaven -- tree houses and old tractors to climb on, animals, sand pit stocked with trucks galore, bikes, scooters, and basketball hoops. We want to live there.

Ace gears up to toss a handful of leaves at Mommy after school.

Vocabulary Comes to Life

After learning a new word from Mommy, the Critter demonstrates the meaning of "Peek."

Come Play with Me

Ace enjoyed time with his long lost Aunt Jenny (whom he had never met!), as she was in town for the night on a business trip. While Chase showed off his play-doh and read the new book Jenny brought as a gift, Mommy & Daddy appreciated getting an update about the rest of our extended family in Georgia. Come back soon!

Lunch in Neverland

Chase and Mommy went exploring for new a playground today. At the suggestion of a friend, we landed at the Peter Pan park, which boasted Captain Hook's ship, London Bridge, Big Ben, the Darling House, and the caves and rocks of Neverland. A perfect place to revel in our little Lost Boy's unending energy and youth.

Time Stands Still

The Little Engineer makes some modifications to his pesky alarm clock. Clearly, nobody's going to tell him when it's bedtime.

Hiding Out

Ace and Parker were ready for any threat - helmets on for safety - as they hid out behind the grasses this afternoon. If someone really had been looking for them, their laughter would have quickly given them away.

Snowy Morning

Chase awoke to find a blanket of white outside. It was all Mommy could do to get some oatmeal in his belly before he was out the door playing. We also realized that his snow pants are too short!

Rainbow Connection

Today was Stapleton's last farmer's market of the year, and we took advantage of all the special festivities: a free pumpkin, balloon animals, and face painting. Ace said he picked a rainbow, "Because it is pretty!"

Autumn Colors at the Gardens

Chase and Mommy enjoyed an afternoon walking through the Denver Botanic Gardens. Our little meteorologist certainly understands the seasons are changing and loves crunching through the leaves.

Peak Performance

We were out of the door at the crack of dawn and off on quite a Sunday adventure. We ventured down to Colorado Springs to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where The Critter fed a giraffe lettuce right out of his hand.

Then we were off to ride the world's longest and highest cog railway to the summit of Pike's Peak, where temps were in the 20s, but the view was gorgeous.

Circus Freaks

Ace and Erinn had a special adventure with their Mommies today - a trip to the circus! The Little a Engineer, predictably, was especially enthusiastic about the daredevil who was shot out of a canon. (Although the popcorn also proved to be a hit.)

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

The Kid assumes the proper stance as he watches his favorite video star, Cyndi Lauper, belt classic tunes from Mommy & Daddy's youth.
