Chewin' the Fat

Liam and Ace engage in a little neighborly conversation early this evening. Topics included the ownership of various houses on the courtyard, the dangers of bumblebees, and -- of course -- bike riding.

The Water Boy assists Mommy as she cares for a friend's veggie plot in a nearby community garden. Actually, he enjoys spraying Mommy as much as the plants!

Superheroes

As we all try to make sense of the tragic shooting in nearby Aurora, Ace's outfit celebrated some of his favorite superheroes -- Batman, Superman, and first responders, who have been particularly vital in Colorado this summer.

Constant Gardener

The Critter enjoys his first foray into gardening. Although a little late in the season, Mommy hopes to grow some herbs for Chase to smell and taste.

Maverick

Our neighbors have headed out of town to get married this weekend (Congrats, Anne & Adam!) and have left our little Critter in charge of their new little critter. While Mommy and Daddy have had to handle food and litter detail, Ace has the "pick him up and carry him around" routine covered -- a feat not quite as easy with our behemoth kitties.

Look Who's Coming to Dinner

After a long day of travels, Ace was tired but excited to see another set of long lost honorary relatives, Aunt Juliane and Uncle Chris! As some of our most dedicated Chase-a-Day followers, it's appropriate to have at least one make a formal appearance on these pages. (Someday, the Critter will convince the other that it's perfectly safe to have your picture posted on the web. At least the kid hopes it is, or he is in some serious trouble...)

Good Friends & Relations

Chase welcomed a surprise visitor on the last night of our Block Island trip -- Great Uncle Antony. Here, he offers Antony some fresh-picked mint from the gardens of the wonderful, rambling 1909 house that has so comfortably accommodated nine couples (and a little boy adored by them all) over the last week. Antony not only enjoyed the mint, he also certainly added some spice to the mix as our island vacation drew to a close.

Wiped Out

After nearly a week of hard partying on Block Island, it was all the Little Engineer could do to build himself a makeshift jacuzzi, shut down the heavy machinery, and catch a few winks.
