At the Apex

Today, Ace was invited to the joint birthday party of our great (former) neighbors, brothers Julyan & Charlie. The party was at the fabled Apex Recreation Center, which turned out to be even better than advertised. We're now kicking ourselves for not having visited it before.

Regardless, we had a blast playing in all the pools. After some initial hesitation, Ace ended up LOVING the giant water slide pictured in the background. He and Daddy took many scream-filled rides down it!

Home at the Hyatt

Having moved out of our (former) home, we've taken up temporary residence in a hotel. While we're only here for two nights, Ace has declared that he'd like to just live here indefinitely. There is a pool, after all!

Moving Day

While Mommy and Daddy frantically packed, Ace and Parker entertained themselves in the garage.

This included a ride on The Red Sox cat, which likely saved it from the landfill and convinced Daddy that he must figure out how to fit it in the POD.

Goodbye, 2089 Uinta, you have been a great home!

Balancing Act

As our moving day draws near, Mommy relied again on the help of her friend Sara. Chase seems to be balancing the craziness of the move well with some friendly silliness.

Mama Ellen

Mommy and Chase drove out to Breckenridge to see Mommy's great friend Ellen. We enjoyed the Mountain Top Children's Museum and. Dip in the condo pool. Hope to see Ellen again soon.

Leavin' on a Jet Plane (or a car)

As the house gets packed up around him, Ace is oblivious to the move and interested, instead, in our new neighbors and their game of rugby.

A Friend Indeed

One of the hardest things to leave behind in Colorado will be the friends we've made. Today, Mommy and Daddy had multiple offers from friends to have Chase over while we packed. Here Chase, Erinn and Morgan set out to the zoo chaperoned by Mommy's great friend Sara.

Opening Day

After a morning spent packing for our big move, Ace deserved a trip to the Puddle Jumper pool on the first day of swim season, even if it was just as chilly and overcast as it looked.

Goodbye Temple Emanuel

Chase says goodbye today to Laurie, one of his teachers this year at TE. We've had a great experience at his first school and look forward to finding a new place for Chase in Maine.

The Calm Before the Storm

Chase parades around the yard, celebrating Daddy's 20th Princeton Reunion, before our daily afternoon storm. At least today was not as scary as yesterday.

Shelter in Place

The afternoon turned scary when huge hail and very loud winds ripped through our neighborhood. When the sirens went off, Mommy made a quick decision to get Chase and an emergency bag into the crawl space. Luckily, we'd been to the library so we had some new books to read and DVDs to watch. Fortunately, Ace was not as scared as he looks here. He considered it a little adventure!

Added Support

As Ace added the next level of blocks, he noticed that the triangles needed support blocks to keep them from slipping. Spacial awareness is a strength, writing and drawing - definitely areas to improve.

Finding Zen

Chase walks barefoot along the "oochy, ouchy" path in the Japanese garden at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Sunday, May 18, 2014

New Friends on the Block

Chase and Parker welcomed two new boys, brothers Dennis and Andrew, to the courtyard today.

Bare Bones

We participated in the Stapleton yard sale today as we scramble to downsize as much stuff as possible before our move. With the patio furniture sold, we had to pull out a beach chair to give the kids something to play on.

Frozen

Can you tell that Lyla, Parker, and Ace really enjoyed their post-dinner treat of Mommy's homemade blueberry popscicles?

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Bedtime Selfie

Chase had a fantastically well-behaved day at school, with Mommy, and with friends. He capped it off with some cuddly story time with Daddy.

Monday, May 12, 2014

Family Game Night

Chase tries to combine dinner and a game of Angry Bird Trouble. Mommy and Daddy had a hard time following his rules.

Sunday, May 11, 2014

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day as a family today, rejoicing in the fact that we are blessed with The World's Best a Mommy!

The festivities included Ace's first-ever trip to Benihana's, where he really loved the show put on by our chef, Sam. Mommy assured us she had a good time, too!

Cute Kid

We took a short walk this evening... But it was long enough for Ace to show off his adorableness!

Bipedal Driving

In what now has become our Friday tradition, Chase pedals around Sunflower Farm.

Mom's Lunch

Chase treated Mommy to a special Mothers Day lunch at Temple Emanuel this afternoon. Singing, crafting and giving gifts -- fun was had by all.

Let's Go Fishing

On a beautiful, windy spring day, Chase throws a few casts into the lake.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Face to Face

After five passes, Chase finally gets a close up of Besar the Sumatran tiger at the Denver Aquarium. Daddy may be about to miss his 20-year Princeton Reunion, but at least The Critter is connecting with cool tigers.

Rock-a-Bye

Ace may act beyond his years at times, but it was just like old times when he passed out from exhaustion after a busy day with Mommy.

Sunday, May 4, 2014

Joy of Cooking

If you want a smile out of a Ace, tell him he gets to help Mommy bake cookies.

Fonzie!

What a day! Not only was it Free Comic Book Day (which we celebrated at the largest comic store in America), but we also went to the mall, had fun at a New Orleans-style crawfish boil, and frolicked in bouncy houses at a friend's birthday party.

And, yes, if the man behind Ace in the striped shirt looks familiar, it's because he's Henry Winkler, the Fonze!

Pierson and Chase, Sittin' in a Tractor

Chase and Mommy met up with Pierson and his Mommy and sister at Sunflower Farm today. A real world Neverland for kids, right here in Colorado.

Belay Off

Mommy took Ace to a new park today, where he showed off his Spider-Man-like climbing ability. Look at that kid ascend!
