Vacuuming is easy around our house. Chase is fascinated by this technological marvel and is entertained as the house gets cleaned.

A dentist one day?

Chase always liked it when we brushed his teeth, but now he does it himself! He's going to have some pearly whites!

Chase loves Auntie

Sporting his new "Pasture Bedtime" PJs, Chase strikes a pose. He loved playing and spending time with Auntie Amanda. We were so sad to see her leave today.

Aqualad

Chase and Mommy enjoy their first swim in our new neighborhood recreation center. Looks like the kind of place they'll be spending a lot of time.

Social Climber

Don't even try to convince us that the rest of you don't take off all your clothes, climb up onto large objects, and strike a Spider-Man pose.

Auntie Time

Chase enjoyed eating dinner with his Auntie Amanda, who is visiting this week from Boston. Time to get spoiled!

Lil' All-Star

With Mommy and Auntie Amanda off to Boulder for the night, the boys were left to join Marc & Caleb for dinner and the NBA All-Star Game at Casey's Pub. Here, Chase chows down on mac 'n cheese (kids eat free on Sunday) as Ray Allen gets ready to play.

So many books... so little time...

The zoo was so packed we couldn't even find a parking spot, but it turns out Chase was just as happy to check out the literary selection at The Tattered Cover.

Like Father, like Son.

Peek-A-Boo!

Like any one-year-old, Chase loves when people play peek-a-book with him. Tonight he played peek-a-boo on his own for the first time. He looked around the corner, laughed, then pulled himself back out of sight. Several times.

The kid cracks himself up.

Paddycake

Whenever Chase hears "Paddycake, paddycake, baker's man" he begins clapping. Finally, he recognizes words! Some others he knows are belly, nose, mouth, eyes, ears, head, and hair. We're working on feet, hands, and Chewbacca. What do you want Chase to learn?

Chase and Mommy enjoyed a walk over to the neighborhood park on a beautifully sunny day.

Boys Lunch

Chase and Jamey enjoyed a lunch of Cheerios, cheese sticks, yogurt and mashed potatoes. Then they let loose and played with some of Jamey's birthday loot.

Sweethearts

Chase went over to Taylor's house for a while so mommy could get some work done. A possible love connection on Valentine's Day?

Cheese or bananas?

When confronted with the choice between cheese or bananas, the bananas always win.

My Funny Valentine

Chase ponders Valentine's Day wishes from Nanna and Papa. He's almost learned how to give kisses -- highly appropriate considering the holiday.

My Fair Son

Chase shows off Eliza Doolittle-like posture as he balances a cube on his head. He remained motionless for 2 1/2 hours. Overachieving, as usual.

You can always make me smile

After multiple doctors visits we have determined that Ace has an ear infection as well as RSV (whatever that is) and that mom is just certifiably sick in really bad, yet unclassifiable ways.

Still, they brighten each other's days!

Beat

The sad thing is that Chase isn't even the sickest person in the house. His poor mother spends all her energy on him and has no resistance to fight off her own set of germs.

Hint of a Smile

A hacking cough, runny nose, watery eyes, too cold to leave the house, a sick mother, and the worse diaper rash the world has ever seen.

And, yet? He's almost smiling. What a kid.

Is that truck BPA-free?

Chase has indeed learned more sophisticated ways to play with his toys. He's now pushing buttons, dropping things into containers, and, occasionally, attempting to devour large plastic vehicles.
