On another note, Mommy has been on a Friday Night Lights binge on Netflix. She had been calling the Critter Lil' Riggins because of his long hair. After today's cut, Ace looks more like Lil' Coach Tayor. Neither is a bad doppelgänger.

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed an evening stroll around the block, with Ace acting as the pace car in his trike. At one point, he had to dismount to get a closer look at our neighbor's glowing hummingbird.

Back in Action!

Daddy got home from the first day of school and was presented with a special present - a back roller - which Ace proudly showed off.

Baseball, Beyblades, and the Boys

Ace takes on Sam and Caleb in Beyblades (battling tops!) as the Sox game plays in the background. Daddy and Ace actually were at the Cassetta-Waxman house for a sleepover, since Marc and Gianna went away for the night to celebrate their anniversary.

Auntie A. Arrives

Ace delighted in the unexpected visit from Auntie Amanda, who jetted out to Denver for a few more days with her nephew. Tubby time was even more fun than usual, and drying off involved making funny sounds as Auntie pounded on his chest.

It's a Zoo Out There

While he didn't see any dogs masquerading as lions (a story out of China yesterday) The Critter did enjoy his afternoon at the zoo with Mommy.

Blowing Bubbles

Chase uses the stand from his T-Ball holder to blow enormous bubbles in one of Mommy's sauce pans. A fun summer day in the yard.

Just another evening run to Home Depot for our favorite construction worker.

Daybreak

"You will be amazed and impressed," Ace declared, as he summoned us over to see the sunrise. He could have just as appropriately been referring to the surprise French toast that Mommy made for her guys this morning.

Just Say No

Chase has taken to noticing cigarette butts - in fact, he has an eagle eye for them and can spot them from far away. Although we can't think of when he's actually seen someone with a cigarette, he somehow understands enough to always ask, "Did somebody blow smoke out of that?"

Home is where the cat is

After a week in Connecticut, Ace and Mommy returned to Denver today. While we know all the East Coast folks were sorry to see them go, Daddy, Bird, and Trane were thrilled to have them back. Here, the two brothers enjoy a little quality time after nap.

Never Say Goodbye

Mommy is sure Daddy will have a heart attack about two pictures on Chase-a-Day, but she just couldn't choose. Tomorrow we say goodbye to the East Coast to fly back to Colorado, but even harder than flying with a three-year old is saying goodbye to family. Chase has had a wonderful time spending quality time with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Amanda, Uncle Johnny, Nanna and Papa. We are so fortunate to have had this time together and hope to see everyone again soon.

After a long ride from Maine to Connecticut, Nanna and Ace take a closed eye picture and feel the love.

Flagger Chase

Chase explains with great gusto to Mommy and Grandma that the X means you cannot pass, construction is underway. Luckily, for Mommy, the work was finished five seconds later and she was able to continue.

Everyday is a Party

After spending the day romping through the back yard, playing at the beach and swimming in the pool our little love was rewarded with a giant cupcake after dinner. Life is good at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Don't worry Daddy, only a bit of the frosting was eaten, because Ace "listened to his body" and stopped eating when "his tummy told him to". A lesson we should all learn.

Heading out for the East Coast, Lord knows I’ve paid some dues gettin’ through

Chase and Mommy were so happy to land safely in New York and to be welcomed with open arms to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Connecticut. Our little aviator was wonderful on the airplane thanks to Elmo and a portable DVD player. But neither enjoyed the turbulence while descending into LaGuardia. As you can see from the ear to ear grin, we are happy to be here.

One Giant Leap

After an exciting morning peddling a 5K on a trike and playing in the hot sand, Chase jumps into Rattlesnake Lake with gusto. Tomorrow he and Mommy jump across the country to visit Grandma & Grandpa!
