At the local school fundraiser Touch -A-Truck event, Ace took time out of his inspections to explain key functions of this front loader to a passerby.

With neighbors Nick and Linda on vacation, we have been charged with caring for kitty Ricky, who seems to spend all his time under the garage stairs. Ace used a flashlight to ensure the cat was actually under the steps and then, as demonstrated here, imitated the rude hissss with which ungrateful feline greeted him.

Daddy took the day off and the family had several adventures, including a downtown trip to the central branch of the library. There, Ace tried out some unusual rider-steed combinations.

Sequestered

Spring sure is having a hard time pushing through here in Colorado this year. Chase and Mommy made the best of it by playing in the garage all morning. Moon sand mess, bike as bulldozer, broom as propeller, bubble machine mania, and furious painting kept us busy and kept our attention away from the snow squall outside.

Dinner Time Stories

"Once upon a time, there was a boy eating sausage!"

That was one of Ace's more compelling stories (note he is reading from his book), as the family took turns during dinner telling original tales.

Auntie G.'s Birthday

We celebrated Gianna's birthday tonight, complete with specialty cupcakes. Here, Marc engages in a 15 minute debate with Chase about whether The Critter should surrender his treat, including repeated threats by Ace (seen here) that he would take a giant first bite. In the end, of course, the Kid prevailed, devouring it himself.

Snow Removal

Parker and Ace make quick work of the remaining white stuff on Friday afternoon.

Dinner Out

"Can you believe these Christmas lights?!" exclaimed Chase as we sat down for a dinner out. We usually reserve breakfast and lunch as meals out with the Critter, but Mommy had a coupon for buy one get one free entree and a gift certificate for $40 which left only the tip to come out of our wallets. Economical and festive!

Storm Shelter

If it's April 17, it must be cold and snowing in Denver. Ace and Daddy retreated to the Man Cave to ride bikes. While he's still partial to his Radio Flyer quadra-trike (we have no idea what to call it), tonight he also took a few spins on the plasma car, which was clearly a blast.

Solidarity

Ace wore his Boston t-shirt today to show support for his favorite city.

Iced Tea Wine

On a horrific day for Boston and the country, Ace reminds us to smile as he presented Mommy with her "ice tea wine", which is funny partly because Mommy has become something of a teetotaler.

Parker is 4!

Grace, Chase, Henry, Nora and kid unknown hold hands in preparation to plummet down the largest slide ever seen at a birthday party. Our little adventurer climbed, rolled, and bounced himself silly at our neighbor Parker's fourth birthday celebration. Fun was has by all!

Cat Scratch Fever

While our courtyard may have six dogs that live in the houses surrounding it, we all know that the king of our neighborhood jungle is Curtis the Kitty, who is willing to frolic with anyone -- man, woman, child, or canine -- who ventures out.

Yesterday, Curtis got a bit too playful, and took a little nip at Ace. While it didn't break the skin, we took no chances with the bite today, giving Chase a precautionary morning soak. The Kid ended up being less woried about his injury than the funny fellow looking back at him in the tub.

Gettin' Down with Friends

In an after nap trip to Jamey's playground, Chase discovered that sliding down a huge slide isn't so scary when your best bud is at your side.

Digital Native

Not only can this little guy use a computer at the library with a color-coded keypad, headphones, and a cool mouse, but also a touch screen. Kids computers sure have gotten better!

Snow Day Adventure

Believe it or not, April 9th brought the first snowday of the year, and the family enjoyed an unexpected day together. After the roads cleared up, Ace enjoyed crawling around under the ping pong table at the new Stapleton visitor center.

65* and Falling Fast

After a morning playing in the 65* sunny weather the day turned cold and blustery around 5. Snow and sleet are in the forecast for tomorrow.

Three at Three

Nora, Ace, and Parker -- all at various stages of three-years-old -- take timeout from evening courtyard festivities as they await their turn on the wagon rides captained by Nora's older sister, Grace. Bike riding and t-ball were also enjoyed.

Run for Your Life!

Ace has a close encounter with a giant snow blower engine at the Colorado Railroad Museum in nearby Golden.

Not only did he escape unharmed, we enjoyed a fantastic morning learning about -- and riding -- all kinds of historic trains. We shall certainly return.

Day Date

Mommy took Chase and Erinn on a day date to the Botanic Gardens to give Erinn's mommy some time to take care of Morgan's (Erinn's little sister) fever. Fun was had by all plus, the kids got some treats at the cafe after a tiring morning digging in the dirt.

Toes al Fresco

Not only did the delightful spring evening afford Ace the opportunity to sport these trendy sandals, but he also took his dinner on the porch.
